50th Anniversary of Museum of Art

The celebration begins. "Look for Beauty": Philip Johnson and Art Museum Design. Architect Philip Johnson's vision of grandeur will be explored and celebrated in this major exhibition and catalog. The exhibition will include architectural models, plans, original furniture and photographic murals of the three buildings' facades, entry hall and galleries, as well as archival materials such as correspondence, exhibition photographs and catalogs. Event is free and open to the public

CM hosts its 8th Annual Induction Ceremony into the Int'l Hall of Fame for Rowing, Bicycling, Kayaking and Canoeing. Over twenty-five sports figures, Olympians, coaches & disabled participants have been inducted since 2003. We are open year round 9:30am to 2:30pm on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday (and Friday's during holiday weeks & school breaks).

Chuco Valdes and the Afro-Cuban Messengers

Hailed as “the dean of Latin jazz” and “one of the world’s great virtuosic pianists” by the New York Times, multi-Grammy Award winner Chucho Valdés is one of Cuba’s most famous pianists, bandleaders, composers and arrangers. Valdés has recorded more than 80 albums during his illustrious career, performing with countless jazz masters, including Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, Wynton Marsalis and Chick Corea. Best known as one of the greatest living Cuban jazz pianists, Chucho’s illustrious career has earned him appearances on the great stages in music, including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center and The Hollywood Bowl. Chucho’s new project with the Afro-Cuban Messengers marks his return to the US for the first time in seven years.
